Help
Short answers. If you need a person, write us from Contact.
How do I sign in?
We email a sign-in link to the address you enter. No password.
How does bidding work?
It’s a reverse auction. Neighbors offer their price. The poster sees bids cheapest-first, with the lowest one marked, and can still pick anyone. Bidding is free and unlimited.
What do you charge?
Nothing to join or bid. Your first five gig posts are free, then 50¢ to publish another. When a poster accepts a bid they pay a $2 connection fee. We never take a percentage of the job. You pay the neighbor directly.
When do we see each other’s contact?
After the poster pays the $2 connection fee. Then both people can message in the app and see email addresses. Losing bids are marked “not selected.” If a mutual ID check is in progress, messages wait until both people have a current badge.
Can I ask the poster a question?
Yes. Signed-in neighbors can ask a short public question (about 200 characters). Only the poster answers (about 400). Keep emails, phone numbers, and links out of Q&A. When a gig is hired, filled, or closed, the thread freezes. Flag anything that looks off.
What is an ID check?
A Stripe Identity photo-ID match. It shows an “ID checked” badge for 12 months. It is not a background check and it does not mean someone is verified safe. Community Pros do this on the existing Pro path (specialties + card on file). Anyone else can pay $3 at hire for a mutual check. If you already have a current badge, we skip Stripe.
How do I stay safe?
Meet during the day when you can, tell a friend, and leave if anything feels off. Short tips sit on post, bid, and hire screens. The full page is Safety.
What are Community Pros?
Neighbors who opt in with specialties and a credit card on file. There is no monthly Pro fee. If a Pro is hired, we charge 4% of the accepted bid (min $1) to that card. ID verify is part of that same Pro path. Become a Pro.
Example listings
A few gigs are marked Example so you can see how bidding works. Those posters are sample neighbors and won’t accept a real bid. Listings without that badge are regular posts on the board.
